The Bureau of Meteorology has released the latest weather forecasts for Adelaide and the broader South Australian region. As locals experience a mix of weather conditions over the next few days, here’s the rundown.
Starting with today’s weather, Adelaide residents should prepare for a cool day with a maximum of 16 degrees and a couple of showers expected. The showers are more likely to occur from late morning onwards, with a 60% chance of rain and possible rainfall of up to 3 mm. Winds will start out easterly at 15 to 20 km/h, shifting to northeasterly and increasing slightly before becoming lighter in the early afternoon.
Moving into Sunday, the temperature will slightly rise with a minimum of 11 degrees and a maximum of 19 degrees, and there’s a slight chance of a shower. The likelihood of rain remains low at 40% with possible rainfall up to 1 mm. Conditions will be partly cloudy, with similar wind patterns as Saturday, although they will become light late in the afternoon.
For Monday, the forecast shows a mostly sunny morning before the possibility of afternoon and evening showers. Temperatures will range from 12 degrees to 20 degrees. The chance of rain is set at 50% with up to 2 mm possible. Northeast to northerly winds will prevail, becoming light later in the day.
For general weather across South Australia, there’s mixed anticipation over the following days. A high pressure system near Tasmania is influencing current conditions but will move away by Sunday. A cold front is also expected to cross SA on Monday but will quickly weaken. The state will see varied weather with isolated showers and possible thunderstorms, particularly in the west and central areas.
In weather warnings, a specific alert has been issued for the Mid North forecast district. A frost warning was released late Friday, cautioning about temperatures as low as -1 degrees on Saturday morning. The warning emphasises that ground-level temperatures can be significantly lower than those recorded by standard weather stations under calm and clear sky conditions.
